The Pharma Sales Interview Breakthrough Blog
I came across this and had to share because I think it is valid advice. In her book "Yes, Please", Amy Poehler says the following"
Your career won't take care of you. It won't call you back or introduce you to its parents. Your career will openly flirt with other people while you are around. It will forget your birthday and wreck your car. Your career will blow you off if you call it too much. It's never going to leave its wife. Your career is f------ other people and everyone knows but you. Your career will never marry you.
There was some sort of divine intervention when I read this...it is the exact same feelings that I am struggling with currently. I am constantly working through a whole range of emotions regarding the work I do...and I ask myself...does she (my career) love me...or not? Does she even like me? What did she (my career) say that? What does that mean...or what was it supposed to mean?
Being more ambivilent to your bad boyfriend or girlfriend is likely a better way...or healthier way to approach the relationship you have with your career. At least in my opinion.
Of course, my career will likely do something special or nice for me next week and then I will reverse course completely on this topic.
Have a great week everyone!
