The Pharma Sales Interview Breakthrough Blog
Ok, let's jump right into it.
What are your expectations of a medical sales position? Hours? Customer Interactions, Training? etc.?
A question of this type sets you up to discuss your preparation both for the role and for the interview. A slight change to this question...for those that have medical sales experience...could be "What are your expectations of the medical sales position with our company?".
In the book, I outline ways to prepare for the "ins and outs" of the medical sales / pharmaceutical sales role. Assuming you have the book, any question of this nature is a slam dunk.
That said, you want your responses to reflect "authentic spontaneity"...this includes the questions number 17 & 18 that were posted previously. You don't want to answer in such a quick fashion that it seems overly rehearsed or mechanical in nature.
When you practice responding to this question...or any interview question, you want to do so in such a way that your responses are "memorized"...but more..."internalized". So, when asked a question, you will pause for a second, reflect for just a moment...and then respond with..."Over the past year, I have spent a great deal of time learning as much as I can about the medical sales role. In fact, I....
I won't go any further...but you get the idea. Interview prep is vital to the success of answering this type of question. The more you prep...in the right way...the more you can steer the interview in the direction you want, as opposed to the other way around.
Thanks everyone, Michael
