If you want to be interesting...then you need to be interested. Often times people think that they have to "one up" others or brag about their accomplishments to seem interesting to others. Honestly...I think that's a bad idea and a quick way to annoy others around you.
Try this next time you are in a group, social setting - ask people about themselves. Ask them about their day, vacation, movies, books, interests, and all of a sudden you will find commonalities that you didn't know existed - and you will create a new relationship or connection to your network.
